So, with the soon to be repossessed XTerra at our fingertips still, we decide we must get everything we need out and about to finish this up… as we need to go soon. August 1 is my EDD (estimated date of departure).
Finally I had to put my foot down with Billy, as it has been hot and he hasn’t been working too much in the bus lately, therefore I kinda slacked too! During our morning coffee, I sit up in my seat and say, “Ok, no more sitting around, we have got to get moving again.” I kind of then began bossing him around, forcing him to make a list of all we needed out and about, because not only will they come take my car soon, but, our battery is dead in it. Therefore, everytime it gets shut off, we need a jump!
Steadfast and ready to go with list in hand, we catch a battery charge from our neighbor and head out for what we didn’t realize would turn into a 8 hour day!
Trailer Store- 50-30amp step down cord$21, Privacy tent for shower outside $23, cargo net for roof deck (carrier) $20
Sonic- Mozz Sticks, Popcorn Chicken, unsweetened iced tea and a Coke $10
FirePlace Store #1- found out it would cost $348 for our chimney stuff, left, giggling….
Home Depot- Wood for roof deck, support for broken step, chain for front door (protect from wind), duplicate keys, fireproof caulk, Thinking we are bright and beating the system by getting gas rated chimney items for our woodstove… Saving hundreds of dollars. $140 total at the Depot
Radio Shack- Microphone step down cord for Chelsea, to record her music on computer, data cable for remote to inverter box, and earphone extension cords for kids to hear there tvs individually $24
Jamba Juice- For me and Chel (kids stayed home, but, i must bring something back for them) $8.00
McDonalds- Nuggets for Sage, $5.00
FirePlace Store #3- Still need a roof vent cap and in the process non-chalently told them what our ghetto thinking was for stove….yikes…..
Back to:
Home Depot: Return the makeshift chimney items (+$40) we were told that we would melt them using the stove.
FirePlace Store #3: Chimney stuff, and hell, it isn’t cheap! Double Wall telescoping chimney, roof cap, storm collar, trim collar, chimney brush $200!
It was a very expensive day! Each time Billy’s unemployment comes in, I swear it goes right back out. I was hoping after High Sierra we could gain a few hundred extra to leave with, and it isn’t working this way. I think we are now really done buying stuff we need! I hope! We have to be.
Oh and remember when I said each time we shut the car off we needed a jump? well, do you think my husband would have asked someone to help us after each trip to each store? if you said no…you are correct.
Therefore, we took our piece ozone layer or whatever it was on this day… as yes, our car ran as we shopped for 8 hrs straight!
I will give back to the earth in the process to make up for the huge carbon ASS print we made on it yesterday!
xoxo

My oh My.
So, right in from High Sierra, we of course jump on the bus project. As we were supposed to be out last week for good!
You can watch our videos to be up-to-date as well, but, long story short.
Failed Inspection again, got a new carberateur and now passed. The bus is in great working order right now
We are now living out sometime in the house to gain some extra cash before we leave and to finish all the little things and big things (such as solar installed). We will now hopefully depart from SLC with all being complete. Therefore, I am hoping to live the relaxing life on the road…. hahahah!
Da Bus is in the back yard again, we got a parking ticket and Impound Notice all in the same day ~
This is better though, as Billy has more desire to work on it in the back, and Jersey (the dog) won’t freak out as much as she gets to be with him all the time again.
I am at a standstill on my end, as my tasks now involve moving our belongings into the new crib and organizing. With William still working, it is too difficult to navigate my way through the short space.
Instead, I have been steady to find some things I can do to make money on the road. I have now tried my hand at: Tie Dye (Love it!), Henna (yikes, I think you need to know how to draw with this craft), Sewing belt bags (hate it, but love it, and they are damn cute!), I think today I will try my hand at knitting scarves (yea, this will be fun being it is 976 degrees outside!)
William is installing the woodburning stove backing today….
I think I shall head in for a water jug shower!
