What does this have to do with Shania Twain?

hmm… you ask…..

Well, How many of you saw I <3 the Huckabees? (one of my faves btw)

The story I am about to tell is just like Jude Law on auto-repeat about Shania’s Tuna sandwiches….

But, you, well, some of you have not heard it yet and probably wonder where I have been and what we are up to, and Hell~ have they left yet or what!?!

Here is how the last however long has gone by since my last blog post has been (What did she just say? you ask… don’t know, need some more coffee!)

Rain, oh and um, more rain…

Bus painting one day, day of for rain, paint again, day off for rain, paint, day off, paint day off, ok, ok, you get it….hehe

3 Colors on Da Bus Brown, Gold and Green. Looks awesome! I will get some pics up, promise. Billy got way detailed in taping off the bluebird symbol even to keep it. We are lookin’ hot boys and girls!

3 lights going plugged into a long extension cord from the house each night as Billy painted the bus into wee hours of the morn. This has not been a small task. if the rain wasn’t involved I would say 1 solid week of 12 hour days on the bus body. We mixed the ceramic additive to the roof paint for heat block, taped off, taped off, oh and did some more taping off! Fixed overspray…. more overspray, oh and when you fix the overspray with spray, you just get more overspray!

Needing to get the bus back out of the yard for our first outing, we cut down the fence and back out very smoothly and cruise down the ally. After the day out getting inspected etc, we do not want to fight getting it back in, so we know, we must park out front.

We live on a VERY busy road! Road side of the paint job has been totally completed, we do have some minor touches on the sidewalk side… to complete.

I did get an awesome sprayer from Harbor Freight for only $16.99! can’t beat that. We are using a .82 tip to spread the metallics and ceramics well. We did not prime, we did sand, bondo, etc… We are using auto paint.

William replaced the upper school bus flashers with clear lenses, as I love the look of the lights and the housing around them. The Amber and Red lights left can come with a HEFTY fine so off they went. The lenses though were not cheap. $80 for 8 of them at www.schoolbusparts.com.

Temporary Registration expired June 19 it was now the morning of the 25th….

Time to get ‘er inspected, plates and head out to our new life…. well, um, June 29th…tomorrow.

ahhhhhh…… yes….. there is a part 2….. This is where the Tuna Sandwich story comes in… Hold on Shania…. it has been quite a ride!

ahoy! Is this a bus or an ark? This rain is non-stop! Every day for what I believe has been 2 weeks now it has rained, poured, dumped! We need to paint the bus! Rain Gods, here me!

ok……

Today, purchased a cheap-o sprayer from harbor freight for $16.99

Got some Acrylic Reducer to mix in the paint (1 qt to every 1 gallon of paint)

Been back and forth to Ace hardware today to get more… more and oh yes, more 120 grit sandpaper.

We woke to a bit of sunshine, William is out sanding Da Bus today, trying to get as much done before the rain again at 9pm (according to www.weather.com). It also seems as if we may have Thursday and Friday as a sunshiney day…. (sigh) god willing!

The chestnut brown has finally reached us www.paintforcars.com

we are ready to go!

or….Ready to walk the plank!

can it all just disappear in the blink of an eye?

the answer?……Yes

no matter what it is… it can be here today, gone in well, 5 mins.

Yep, I type this as I lay on the floor in my room in the house. What? no bed you ask?

nope.

It is all gone, the bed, the dressers, Sage’s bed, dresser, our couch, our table. Wow, house looks big empty! haha.

The method to my madness….
empty a room of things we are keeping, move it into a bus
then throw out the trash
then get yard sale/donate piles out
this method= empty rooms and 4 on the floor

I, for the most part am down to the tedious, icky part of moving…. you know what I mean, all of you. The worst part, that last of the little crap that you need to pick through, the shit that you forgot you even owned, which is then mixed with the lint, pennies, bobbi pins and cat toys found under all the furniture that is now cleared from the room.

Billy is working on the electric system today, batteries, inverter, etc….
The rain continues to dump, making this move a muddy, pain in the rear end type of a move. We have a deadline. Does everyone realize this? ack! We need to leave in 2 weeks. The time crunch is on.
Billy remains a stressed out mess, I feel stuck most of the time, trying to help, but, feel as if I am running a three legged race on crutches!

ahhhh….. ok…. I will just breathe!

xoxo

I just read my widdle brother’s blog post, and it was so cute. I also put most of my things and my clothing on to the bus today! It was very difficult because I have so much clothing, I have about 5 sweaters that look exactly the same…but I wuv them all. I am very excited that our first stop is in Northern Cali for a festival, High Sierra is my favorite! One thing I am worried about is my cat, Xia getting out! She is my princess, the love of my life, I love her with every fiber of my being. If she gets outside and we lose her….something will go DOWN!….but lets just hope for the best, eh? She is my pumpernickel of love. I recently bought a Washburn Travel Guitar so I can play at campgrounds and not harm the Martin! I hope we will be able to travel out of country soon and explore lots of different areas.
Love, Chelsea-Rain. (17) Baha, bet you thought I was 5?

Hi! Mom asked me to be her guest blogger today :)

My Dad put in a outside shower and finished the refrigerator, he has been working on the heat, oven and propane.  I have a TV in my bus room and i have been watching movies in the bus. I put all my clothes in my closet and my dad is putting in a railing on the shelves so things don’t fall when were driving. I cant wait to go to New Jersey, but first were going to High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA. Living on the road and traveling is going to be FUN! Camping, roasting marshmallows, waking up and hearing the birds sing.
